I Saw Something Interesting Today

IS EVERYONE ENJOYING their last few weeks of gardening? September is really a gorgeous month, weather-wise, isn't it?

Canna 'Tropicana'
The photo below, a drive-by, is the entrance to a new student housing facility. The grounds were just landscaped and I found it interesting that they chose to use hardy bananas (Musa basjoo). Although I've seen this plant in many home landscapes, I don't believe I've ever seen it used commercially. I found it interesting. Have you seen this plant among commercial landscapes?

Here is my hardy banana. Much smaller than the commercial ones but it's happy.
And now a little fall-ish foliage to welcome the new season.

Cercis 'Forest Pansy'

Panicum 'Shenandoah'
I don't actually grow Chinese Lanterns but I saw these at a nursery recently and had to get a photo. They're very fall-ish, aren't they?

 Happy Fall!
