A few weeks ago, I got an email from a gal on behalf of Terra Real Vegetable Chips. She told me that Terra was teaming up with Seed Savers Exchange because "they value the preservation of vegetable diversity for future generations." She also wrote that, in celebration of the collaboration between these two worthy organizations, Terra Chips was launching two new chip flavors to, "raise awareness of the Seed Savers Exchange's mission and the need for crop diversity."
Made with a variety of heirloom vegetables that started as seeds from the Seed Savers Exchange, Terra's two new flavors are "Heritage Blend" and "Beauregard Sweets."

Then I was asked if I would like to receive a package of each to sample and review for my blog to help spread the word. Heck yeah!
The chips arrived a few days later and my only regret is that I told two of my grown kids about them and the bags were empty by dinnertime. We all agreed they were delicious. The potatoes had a nice crunch and just the right amount of salt, pretty much what I expected from Terra. What surprised me were the beets. See the chip with maroon swirls in the left photo? This is exactly what the beets look like--very pretty! And they taste exactly like a fresh beet. They're called "Chioggia Beet" and if you like beets, you'll love these. I could only eat a few before needing to go back to the milder potatoes. I'm thinking they would have been nice with a Ranch Dressing Dip. If they weren't gobbled up before I had a chance to make some. Ha, ha.
Terra Chips is dedicated to providing healthy, safe products. There are no artificial colors or flavors, no MSG, no GMOs. They're gluten-free, kosher and they're cooked in expeller-pressed canola oil. There are several yummy varieties that you can purchase at Whole Foods or from their website.

These are really healthy snack foods. You can munch on them and not feel even a tiny bit guilty. And I am positive little tykes would love them as well as adults.
