LAST THURSDAY, THE CLOUDS cleared and the sun came out! What a gorgeous day. The blue sky juxtaposing the vibrant fall colors made for a fabulous photo op.

A blue sky really perks up a fall day. It seems to take any chill out of the air, and invite you to go for a stroll. You caught some lovely transformations in the trees, and yes, they really pop against that wonderful background.
ReplyDeleteGrace, the golden and red leaves are beautiful in this season! I love the maples, their leaves color may be different: from bright red to dark green.
ReplyDeleteNice photos!
Lovethe fall leave colors! All our leaves are off our trees now and it looks pretty bare here.
ReplyDeleteThat blue sky is a beautiful backdrop for those fall colored trees Grace. It has been cold here the last three days, in the 40's in the mornings, brr!
ReplyDeleteThey are just beautiful Grace against the blue skies. Maples are always so spectacular and you caught them in their best dresses.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures.
Good use of a jewel of a day. We must pounce on them whenever they arise.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteCongratulation,
I nominated your blog on ‘Beautiful Blogger Award’!
You can find your Award here: http://northern-garden.blogspot.com/2012/10/beautiful-blogger-award.html
Beautiful trees untouched by the hands of those hydro scissor hand maniacs - how brilliant! Looks like it has been a wonderful fall right across the continent.

Cars should always match trees, I think now.
ReplyDeleteGrace that day of sunshine was amazing and it sure set the trees aglow. We are having to remove an old pine that had been planted too close to the house, I debate about replanting with a gum or a sunset maple, both beautiful but I kind of want a birch! Decisions!
ReplyDeleteLove the photos, those colors are stunning.
Gracie girl these are beautiful trees and I love the sweet gum with the fantastic gold of the Gingko.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry I am very quiet at this end .. I just had some bad news today and I have to drop out of circulation for a while. Thanks you for being there though .. you are a sweet soul : )

What is that bright shiny thing in the sky? It hurts my eyes. And that blue looking color above the trees, what's that?
ReplyDeleteWe're having an especially lovely and long fall foliage season in our neck of the woods this year & I love how the leaves glow even with a gray sky background. Thanks for a beautiful post!
Fall is really hanging in around here and it's just lovely. Beautiful pics!
ReplyDeleteGrace you picked the best colors to feature....I enjoyed seeing leaves again...ours are gone so quickly..
ReplyDeleteThey are all so pretty, but I've noticed how beautiful the maples are this year. I'm going to have to get some for my garden. Although, that Ginkgo is gorgeous, and I love the 'not sure' tree, too!
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous trees! We've had some nice fall colors, but nothing as spectacular as these. Sandy took off the rest of our leaves but I'm still holding out for some great colors from my crepe myrtles. I love those sunset maples. :o)
ReplyDeleteholy moly, how gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't the Autumn sky beautiful this time of year? The trees in your pictures are so gorgeous too. Ours are only showing the tiniest hint of color so far.

Funny thing, I think I love the Raywood Ash the most. Such a drama queen!
ReplyDeleteOh, my gosh! Those colors are gorgeous! I was out in your area at the end of September. A bit early, I guess, seeing how brilliant your colors are now. Love the pics. :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful, all of them...an I'm always jealous of people who can ID trees...I'm so bad at it!
ReplyDeleteGinkos turn the most BEAUTIFUL color this time of year. It almost makes me want to squeeze one into the garden somewhere!
