ONE OF MY coworkers just came back from a week in Hawaii. She swam with sea turtles, ate tropical fruit at every meal, watched one gorgeous sunset after another. Then she came back to Oregon rain and fog. Poor thing.
So in celebration of sunshine and warm temperatures and soft breezes, I'll just post a bunch of photos from sunnier days. Days when the sun was shining and the flowers were blooming and the bees were buzzing...
And now, back to reality. But spring's coming.
As always,
Yes indeed! Spring is on the way! Interestingly, my favorite picture in this post was the one with just foliage. So many different shapes and colors too, draping over the edging stones.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! Beautiful Grace...doesn't it just make you take a deep breath and smile?
ReplyDeleteGracie girl do you REALLY know how gorgeous your garden is ?
ReplyDeleteIt is BEAUTIFUL .. I aspire to have mine look as amazing as this ..my own little Eden to get lost in .. peace and quiet and sheer heaven !
Joy : )
Lovely summer pictures, hang in there you'll be enjoying spring before long.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend ~ FlowerLady
Grace,
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it is only thirty-two days until spring. It is sneaking up on me this year because our winter has been quite mild.
Eileen
What a delightful breath of fresh, summery air! I am waiting impatiently for spring, but I'm in heaven when it's HOT, so I'll settle for a lovely in-between of warm and sunny. Thanks for the delightful summer images, Grace!
ReplyDeleteI would take a nice long spring. Summer gets too stinkin' hot to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteAhhh ~ can't wait for the beautiful colors of spring! Now if we just don't have to go through another dry summer, perhaps I could grow something this pretty?
ReplyDeleteDear Grace,
ReplyDeleteAre you taking requests?? Won't you put a pic of the columbine you sent me seeds??!! I have wintersown it and I am so jealous of yours, I know I could never grow such a wonderful garden.
I am going back to look at this post again.

Pretty! All that rain makes those plants grow!
ReplyDeleteYour yard is so dang pretty.
ReplyDeleteWe must be on the same spring clock. I've got all my yard pics from last year on a slideshow on the computer so I can watch it while I pump. :o)
I headed out this morning, camera in hand, to get a few shots of spring starting to peek it's head out. SOOO exciting!!!
Lovely... just the tonic. Oh , what a miserable day it's been.
ReplyDeleteI want summer too! Especially after seeing all your garden pictures. Look at all those pink flowers!!!
ReplyDeleteI was looking at our forecast, it's just rain for the next week.
Grace, that was much needed! Looking out my window I see the snow crocus that barely had a chance to open, are now squished from the heavy rain. :( I'm ready for summer too! Cheers, Jenni
ReplyDeleteYour gardens are awesome...I cant wait for summer either, I have the gardeners itch bad!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful! A couple days ago I took a walk through my garden and thrilled at the sight of my early daffodils. I have only a few of early, mid, and late season but I know they'll multiply to create a beautiful mass. Someday. Glorious someday. Can't get my irises to do much, however. Late spring is a wonderful time here in East TX before the relentless heat
ReplyDeletesets in. So through the summer months I work just to keep everything alive. Your pictures lift my spirits and give me hope. Thanks.
Your daughter's holiday sounds quite idyllic Grace as well as envy inducing. Never mind summer - spring would do me nicely - hail is bouncing against the windows right now :)
ReplyDeleteI love how summer in your garden looks so happy, fresh, and comfortable, while summer in my garden is like steamy, wilty, sweaty, and tired out.
ReplyDeleteYour beautiful garden looks like such a happy place! :o) I love the photo with the fern. Beautiful combination!
ReplyDeleteOh Grace...after a muddy day yesterday cutting down all last year's remnants, this post is just what I needed! By the way...I'm so jealous of your Bronze Fennel...mine alway flops over :-(
ReplyDeleteMy husband & I went up the coast of CA & OR this spring. It rained and rained. I finally understood why the forests were so lush and green. On the bright side, I bet you don't have to irrigate your garden.
ReplyDeleteI want spring. You can have summer. But I hear you, its time for stuff to get in the swing. I don't know how zone 4/5 gardeners do it. The anticipation would kill me.
ReplyDeleteOh wow your garden is simply divine, its everything I want mine to be one day..love it! I am so ready for summer! Cheers Julia xx
ReplyDeleteI will skip reality thank you! Your photos are better anyways.
